Of the twelve operas that Giacomo Puccini wrote, three in particular hold a strong position in the list of the world's most often presented operas: Madama Butterfly, La Bohème and Tosca have maintainted first, second and fourth position for many years. Here we offer an insight into the mind of a genius as we take a look at what was happening in his life when he wrote each of his brilliant works.
